Call for applications: 11th South Asian Training Programme on CGE Modelling, Pokhara, Nepal 9–13 August 2018

Objectives

·       
  • Impart knowledge on theory and applications of computable general equilibrium (CGE) models  
  • Enhance policy research capacity    
  • Expand network among researchers and institutions for enhanced collaboration

 

 

Eligibility

Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in economics or a related subject and a good knowledge of applied micro- and macro-economics. While no previous knowledge of modelling is assumed, applicants must have research experience in international trade, climate and development issues. Preference will be given to candidates who have some experience in using quantitative research tools. As this training programme is tailored for early career researchers, participants aged 40 years and older are discouraged to apply.

Application process

Interested candidates are requested to submit the following documents at cge@sawtee.org by 30 June 2018

  • Completed application form 
  • Recent CV/resume (not exceeding four pages)        
  • Letter of expression of interest        
  • Letter of recommendation (only if applying for full funding)

Course fee and expen

The course fee to participate in the training is US$500 for professionals and US$250 for students.

 

Scholarships

The applicants who are unable to participate without funding support from the organizers are requested to indicate this in their applications. Please note that such funding is limited to a few South Asian applicants with a demonstrated need who are currently studying/working in South Asia. Selected participants are encouraged to look for external funding for their participation in the training programme.
