Gender Dimensions of Trade Facilitation Agreement: Evidence from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal

SAWTEE implemented the Nepal component of the project Gender dimensions of Trade Facilitation Agreement: Evidence from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal since December 2018. The project was coordinated by CUTS International and funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), the United Kingdom. The objectives of the project were to collect evidences from women-led and/or –managed and/or -owned micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to study the gender dimensions of trade facilitation, and to create awareness on gender-inclusive trade facilitation in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal. The project also aimed to identify existing barriers to trade that limit women entrepreneurs’ opportunities to engage in economic activities, particularly in trade. Another objective of the project was to provide policy recommendations for enhanced participation of women in trade and trade-related activities. The project continued until 2021 due to pandemic.
