Dr. Manoj Thibbotuwawa

Research Fellow, IPS, Sri Lanka

Manoj Thibbotuwawa is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) with research interests in agricultural economics, climate change and food security. Manoj has over 10 years of research experience at IPS. He has a BSc in Agriculture (with Honours) from the University of Peradeniya and an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya. Dr. Thibbotuwawa pursued doctoral research at the University of Western Australia in Perth (Australia).

He studied for a Post-graduate Diploma in “Modelling and Accounting for Sustainable Development” at Hague (Netherlands) based International Institute of Social Studies. Manoj is recipient of the prestigious NUFFIC fellowship from the Netherlands Government as well as the Endeavour Award from the Australian Government.

He has been associated with different government committees, inter alia, National Committee on Socio-Economics and Policy Analysis at the Council for Agricultural Research Policy, Technical Evaluation Committee on Economic Research at the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka and Technical Evaluation Committee of the National Agribusiness Development Programme on advisory capacity.

Manoj has published widely at prominent forums and platforms.
