Mr. Chatura Rodrigo
Head of Business Development, BIOMASS Supplies (Pvt), Ltd, Sri Lanka
Chatura Rodrigo is an Agriculture Economist with over 12 years of experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation and research. His areas of interests are value chain development, agricultural innovations with ICT and rural economic development.
Chatura has degrees from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and University of Guelph, Canada. He has previously worked with a host of agencies of the United Nations, The Government of Sri Lanka and research think tanks such as Institute of Policy Studies in Sri Lanka and LIRNEasia (Sri Lanka).
Currently he heads business development at BIOMSS Supplies, a Singapore based company. His current work with BIOMASS Supplies focuses on applying the latest research pertaining to areas like agricultural value chains with forward contracts, sustainable intensification of agriculture, carbon certifications and agriculture insurance.
Chatura’s research has been published in prominent national and international forums as well as in research journals. He is a regular contributor for a number of publications across South Asia – Daily Financial Times (Daily Ft) of Sri Lanka, Trade Insights (published by SAWTEE, Nepal) and Exporter (published by National Chamber of Exporters, Sri Lanka).
