Mr. William Sparks

CoP, Feed the Future Asia Innovative Farmers project, Winrock International

William Sparks works at Winrock International and serves as Project Director for USAID’s Feed the Future Asia Innovative Farmers Activity that is advancing innovations and trade policy to invigorate rural Asian economies. Mr. Sparks was awarded the InsideNGO Operational Excellence award for developing and disseminating numerous innovations based on his 20 years of experience in building organizational capacity and establishing market linkages throughout Africa, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. One of his innovations, Sell More For More, was recognized as a Best Practice in international development by United Nations agency IFAD and US-based InterAction alliance of development organizations. He collaborated with the United Nation’s World Food Programme to define and publish the Smallholder Farmer Access to Markets implementation guide. He is also the author of two business books which have been sold worldwide. One of the books is based on his work in performance management which earned him the Dr. JP London award for Promoting Ethical Behavior. Mr. Sparks earned an M.S. in organization development from Pepperdine University and completed the Graduate Institute of Cooperative Leadership program at the University of Missouri. He lives in Thailand with his family and enjoys running marathons.
