Mr. Zubair Faisal Abbasi

Mr. Abbasi is an international trade, industry, and development specialist. Since 1998, he has been part of development sector and has worked with many national and international development agencies and think-tanks such as the United Nations University (UNU), International Development Centre of Japan (IDCJ), Oxford Policy Management (OPM), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and National Commission for Human Development (NCHD).
He has undertaken research and project evaluation on varied areas around economic development—empowerment, trade, industrial development, cash for work and corporate agriculture—among others. In addition, he regularly contributes articles on social and economic development issues in the leading newspapers of Pakistan. Mr. Abbasi has designed and conducted training courses in, inter alia, public policy analysis, entrepreneurship and monitoring and evaluation.
Having been awarded the British Chevening Scholarship, Mr. Abbasi has a MSc in ‘International Development: Industry, Trade and Development’ part of the Development Economics and Public Policy cluster at the University of Manchester, UK. He is member of bodies such as Population Association of Pakistan, Pakistan Society of Development Economists, and the Chevening Alumni Association of Pakistan.
