Ms. Wanphen Sreshthaputra

Social Affairs Officer, UNESCAP

Wanphen Sreshthaputra serves as Social Affairs Officer for the Subregional office for South and South-West Asia of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). She joined the New Delhi-based office after having worked at ESCAP in Bangkok, in the Population and Rural and Urban Development Division and then the Social Development Division for several years. She joined the United Nations in 2002 as Population Information Expert, implementing projects in the field of population and development funded by the United Nations Population Fund and served as Editor of several ESCAP publications including the peer-reviewed and indexed Asia-Pacific Population Journal.

 

She built on a first career in the print and broadcast media in France and Thailand. She holds a Masters in Information and Communication, with a specialization in the print mass media from University Lyon III. She also holds a degree from the University of Hawaii East-West Center in Advocacy and Communication for Policy Makers, as well as diplomas in the field of Knowledge Management. Born in Viet Nam from a Thai father and French mother, she is a French national and was brought up and educated in Switzerland and France.
