Prof. Indra Nath Mukherji

Professor Mukherji was Former Chairman South Asian Studies & Dean School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

After retiring from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2008, Professor Mukherji was affiliated to Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) as Senior Consultant till 2013. He is Regional Editor (India) South Asia Economic Journal.

He is in the Governing Body of   Institute for Resource management and Economic Development and Indian Council of South Asian Cooperation, New Delhi.

Professor Mukherji has completed 25 research projects sponsored by Committee on Studies for Cooperation in South Asia (CSCD), World Bank, UNESCAP, International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), South Asia Network of Research Institutes (SANEI), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce &Industry (FICCI) among others. His core interest relates to trade and development issues pertaining to South Asia. He has participated widely in national and international conferences and contributed more than 114 papers, some of them in peer- reviewed national and international journals.

Professor Mukherji has been Senior Consultant with Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), Trade Consult in ADB-sponsored BIMSTEC Transport Infrastructure and Logistics Study (BITLS), Coordinator, ADB-sponsored project Deepening Economic Cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.
